Nickel-Titanium Pike Pegs – The Benefits of STROFT NiTi
Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) alloys are becoming increasingly popular for predator fishing rods due to their unique ability to return to their original shape even after severe bending. However, connecting NiTi wire to bait locks and spinners can be problematic, as improper crimping of the collets can reduce strength.
STROFT NiTi Monowire and Polywire solve these problems through easy and secure knotting – without collets or crimping tools! With a 4-turn Clinch knot, you can achieve a strength of up to 100% of the line's breaking strength .
✔ Superior bite resistance
✔ Super elastic with optimal shape memory
✔ Highest knot strength and durability
✔ Non-reflective surface for discreet presentation
The difference between Monowire and Polywire:
- Monowire is stiffer and best suited for thinner dimensions (up to 0.30 mm).
- Polywire consists of several thin strands and is more flexible, making it easier to tie in thicker diameters (>0.30 mm).
For thicker Monowire (e.g. 0.35–0.40 mm), crimp sleeves are recommended, but these should be prepared by smoothing out sharp edges and using heat shrink tubing to minimize kinks and protect the knot.
Regardless of your choice of STROFT NiTi, you get the ultimate tackle material for predator fishing – durable, elastic and reliable in all situations!
