The Grappler BB is a special baitcaster developed for light jigging in saltwater, but can also be used in freshwater. The Grappler is lighter and more compact than conventional jigging reels. The low overall weight is based on Shimano's exclusive Ci4+ composite material, which is used for the body. This material is much more robust than cheaper alternatives and also has the advantage of being corrosion-resistant. In practice, the round EVA handle knobs on the longer crank prove to be extremely useful as they are much more comfortable and improve control. Thanks to the SVS drag system and Super Free Spool technology, the Grappler BB also cuts a nice figure when casting and is therefore also suitable for many freshwater applications when heavier weights are to be used.
